Color Wheel: How To Match Brown With Turquoise

Pairing Brown WIth Turquoise
I am taking over the color wheel for the next couple of months to show you guys how to pair different colors and how to style them. Today we are pairing brown with turquoise. Turquoise is the color you get when you mix blue and green together. There are different shades of turquoise. For example: we have light turquoise, medium turquoise, Celeste turquoise, dark turquoise, blue turquoise and so on.

The exact opposite color to brown is blue, which means we can pair any color from the blue family with brown.

Pairing Brown with turquoise:

  1. Turquoise top, two-piece brown suits (pants or skirt) as an accent color for work
  2. Brown dress, turquoise shoes, nice brown clutch purse for date/dinner night
  3. Striped brown/black skirt, turquoise top, black shoes for a casual look
  4. Turquoise skinny jeans/skirt, nice brown cheetah top, black heels, for an  after-five look.
  5. Turquoise gown, brown shoes, brown clutch purse for a wedding, or a more formal event.

This is a great look for early summer mornings. The sweater costs $20 at yesstyle.com. You can get the shorts at allsaints.com for only $95.00. The handbag is a $37 faux leather bag from windsorstore.com. I completed the look with a pair of matallic sandals and some accessories.

Color Wheel: How To Pair Yellow With Brown

The best way to pair brown with any color is to think of it as either a neutral color, or black because you can pair black with pretty much any other color. I learned at a very young age that there are two things you should never try to discuss; these things are taste and colors. My taste will never be yours and your color preference will never be mine. Pairing colors is all about perceptions. Brown may not be your color at all, but you might consider it if it is paired with a color that compliments it.Mixing yellow with brown

  1. A yellow tank top or blouse under a two-piece suit ( pants or skirt) for work
  2. A yellow dress with brown cardigan and brown shoes  for  a cocktail party
  3. A yellow blouse with brown skinny jeans and flats for a day in the city
  4. A Pair of Yellow shoes, a brown dress, a yellow belt for a dinner night in town
  5. A pair of yellow shorts, brown T-shirts, black and yellow sneakers for a casual look
  6. A brown dress, yellow shoes, a yellow clutch purse for a more formal affair.

Speak your mind.

Would you wear brown with yellow?

Outfit Ideas: Fashion inspired by Jamaica

Fashion inspired by Jamaica

Lace shirt / Topshop hot shorts / Visconti & du RĂ©au orange sandals / Kate Spade cross body bag / Vanity Her chain bracelet, $50 / Wallis rope necklace / River Island spike jewelry

 About the look:
The sandals were inspired by Jamaica, but they were made in Italy. They are made of real leather and they have zip closure in the back. They cost over $300. Shorts are always in style during the summer. Green is for the trees. The yellow top was inspired by the sun that’s always shining over this great island. The black cross-body bag, the earrings and the bracelets complete this casual look.

Would you dare wear green with yellow?

Outfit Ideas: Fashion Inspired By Fast & Furious 6

Outfit Ideas: Fashion inspired by FURIOUS 6T By Alexander Wang / Skinny leg jeans, $38 / Friendship bracelet / Charlotte Russe earrings / Zirconia jewelry / Black military boots

Ladies,  You have to see Fast & Furious 6. It is really an action packed movie. It will keep you on the edge of your seats. I paid $23 for me and my husband and I did not regret a penny. All the viewers got so engaged. We clapped. We Cheered. We talked to the actors like black people do:-) You get the idea!
        Now, about the look:
Letty, the character played by Michelle Rodriguez, is sexy, smart, and she has a little mean street in her. This look was created after seeing her in action. The punk motorcycle military combat boots really suit her because she is a racer. The little bracelet and earrings make her look more feminine. You would have to watch the movie to find out why I chose the cross pendant necklace. I don’t want to spoil it for y’all.
                                 Would you wear this outfit?

Outfit Ideas: Fashion inspired by Rihana (Black Flower Dress With Black Open Toe Boots)

Outfit Ideas: Celebrity inspired look

About the look:

The dress only costs $30.00 at nelly.com. The boots Rihana is wearing cost over $ 1, 000, but I found those at nastygal.com for $98.00. The bag is originally $106, but it’s on sale for $89.00 at yoox.com. I completed the look with a necklace, some bracelets, and a 24 K pair of  gold earrings from macys, which costs around $60.00.  What I love about dresses is that there are so many different ways you can wear them. With this look, for example, you can either wear a cardigan or a denim jacket depending on the occasion.
I am crazy about the boots. What do you think?

Have A Safe Memorial Day Weekend!

Get Memorial Day Beach ReadyHi friends,
Heading to the beach today?  I don’t know about you, but I am ready to have some fun in the sun. Read my post for a complete list of everything that you need for the beach. My sister had this crazy idea about having a BBQ by the great Acworth lake today. The idea is crazy because I don’t think there will be a grill left for us to cook for this large family of ours. We will either grill at my house or go to the movies, which means we will still have to grill on Monday if we don’t grill today. I know we will have fun either way. I’ll be posting pictures. Yey!
Anyway! Remember to drive safely, pack all your beach essentials, and do not overeat. Have a safe Memorial Day Weekend!

The Art Of Wardrobe Planning: 5 Questions You Need To Ask Before Planning Your Wardrobe

The Art Of Wardrobe Planning      Your wardrobe, just like your home, should reflect who you are as a person. There are 5 questions you need to ask before planning your wardrobe -I learned that a long time ago when I was studying to become a seamstress- being able to answer these questions will make it easy for you to have clothes in your closet that you will actually wear.

  1. *Who Are You? ( who is your husband:-)
  2. *Where Do You Leave?
  3. *What Do You Do?
  4. *Where Do You Go?
  5. *What Are Your Needs?

    1. *I am 5’5″ . I am a conservative. I am warm-hearted. I am an indoor kind of person.
    2. *I leave in the suburbs of Acworth, Georgia
    3. *I am a seamstress/hairdresser, computer operator, blogger/work from home
    4. *I go to church, I run errands, I go to movies/parties
    5. *I need jeans because I hate skirts, I need clothes that don’t reveal too much because I wear them for church, I need V-necks because my neck is short. I need comfortable shoes because I run errands. This is just an example.
    Things to remember:
    * Buy more of the clothes that you wear often: Office workers need more cardigans, blazers, or jackets because you can wear those over short sleeve dresses, tank tops, or blouses.
    *  Just because you work from home that does not mean you have to wear your old clothes. Your moral is higher and you work better when you wear nice, comfortable clothes. wear clothes you look attractive in ( for your husband’s sake).
    * Pick colors that make you happy. Lavender, for example, makes me happy. I love any color from the purple family.
    * Accessories are a great part of your wardrobe. They make it easy to change your look from day to night using the same clothes. Things like, scarves, shoe clips, hats, flats, heels, sunglasses, jewelry and handbags are a must.
*Buy pants that you can pair with different color tops so you don’t have to buy a pair of pants for each blouse. The same goes for skirts.
    * Having expensive shoes and handbags always make up for not-to-expensive clothes. Even if you don’t have a lot of money to spend on clothes, always try to make your shoes and your handbags stand out.

Outfit Ideas: Memorial Day Weekend Fashion

Memorial Day: Remembering those who died for us.

American Eagle Outfitters / Cuffed shorts / Clarks flip flop sandals / Material Girl studded messenger bag / Abercrombie & Fitch vintage bracelet / Macrame bracelet / Military eyewear / Mavala nail polish, $6.54 / Military Supply House – Camo T Shirts – Pink Camo – Camouflage…

We all have, or had a member of our family in the army. I am glad that my brother was able to go to Iraq and come back to us safely. This outfit is to remember those who have fallen to keep us safe.

      About the outfit:
I know I say it a lot, but I am saying it again, it is summer in Georgia. So excuse my-not-too-southern hospitality when I try to create summer outfits. I do throw a jacket in there most of the time for our spring states. I love the messenger bag, which keeps your hands free. Dark nail polish  is a must when wearing white sandals.
Most of the selected items are $50.00 or less. The whole look is for a little over $200 – minus the decorations – but you don’t have to spend that much because you already have some of the items in your closet.

What will you be wearing on May 27th?
