More Information:
I know you might be asking yourself what on this natural earth of ours is  Haitian VETIVER? I am from Haiti,  and all I can remember about Vetiver is that builders used the roots to build houses. They would let  the roots sit in mud for a while and than lay them over barbed wires to form the walls of the house. I never knew that it had healing powers. Click here for more info on Vetiver.

My personal opinion:

  • Moisturizing beyond belief
  • Good for the price
  • Great for extremely dry skin
  • Not messy
  • Great for sunburn and blemishes

  • The smell is over-powering

The bottom line:
The smell is very strong while applying the lotion, but it does not last. I don’t know about you, but I don’t need all this fragrance ( senti bon)  in my  healing lotion. The product can leave your skin very greasy if you use too much. It is more like a cream than a lotion. The consistency is very thick. You get best results if you use it right after your shower. Use it on dry skin if you have sunburn or mosquito bites that hurt. You can buy this product online for less than $10.00.  I am recommending this product to you. Try it and let me know what you think.

7 Quick And Easy Solutions To Sensitive Skin

So I just realized that I do have sensitive skin. The funny thing is only my face is sensitive to some products. For example: I cannot wash my face with soap. I can only use certain creams on my face. I can only wear makeup for a few hours, or I will have huge breakouts. I came up with 7 ways you can treat your skin problems.

  1.  Always test new products before applying them all over your skin. Applying the product behind your ears for a couple of days is a great way to  know if the product is good for your skin or not.
  2. Wash your hands before touching your face. Bacterias are present everywhere, your keyboards, toothbrush, hair accessories and so on. Washing your hands is the surest way to make sure that you don’t spread germs over your skin.
  3. Be gently with your skin. Wash your face with clean, and soft cloth. Avoid using the same cloth twice unless you are 100% sure it is clean.
  4. Pat dry your face instead of rubbing it with the towel
  5. Throw all expired beauty products away. There are two ways to find out if your beauty products are outdated: Looking and smelling. If your products look or smell bed, that means it’s time for them to go.
  6. Unscented products are must-haves when it comes to people with sensitive skin. The fragrance in your products can also irritate your skin.
  7. Use rubber gloves when washing dishes. Another great solution is to use sugar scrub to make your hands smooth. Olive oil and good old Vaseline are also great in keeping your hands soft. Covering your hands with a cotton gloves after applying a hand cream can keep your hands softer longer.

How To Pick The Right Moisturizer For Your Skin Type

Let’s start by establishing the difference between a cream, oil, and lotion. Well, oil is just oil. It is a great sealer. And the best way to treat a dry skin is to seal the moisture in by forming a protective barrier/layer over skin. The difference between a cream and a lotion is the oil-to-water ratio. Creams have more oil than water, and lotions have less oil.

Spending too much time in a bath tub can decrease the effect of your moisturizers. When you step out of your bath tub, before you grab a towel, apply a body  oil or a rich moisturizer to your damp skin because all moisturizers work better when the skin is still wet. Glycerin and petrolatum should be two of the first ingredients on the container if you have extremely dry skin.

  • Dry skin: Oil based moisturizers work best for dry skin. Johnson’s creamy moisturizing oil is a good choice.
  • Normal skin: a water based moisturizer with light oils is required for normal skin. Stay away form intense moisturizing lotions as they can do more harm than good.
  • Oily skin: This is an easy one. Stay away from oil based moisturizers. Pick oil-free, water-based moisturizers.
  • Sensitive skin: Avoid products that contain fragrance, paraffin, and lanolin.  Use products that are designed for sensitive skin.

Always read the ingredient label when buying any products. Start reading from the first all the way to the last ingredient. If water is the first ingredient listed on the container that means the product has a high percentage of water. Therefore, the product is water based. The same goes for oil based moisturizers.
