REVIEW: Okay 100% Pure Haitian Black Castor Oil

I am from Haiti. So it is needless to say that I have been using this product my whole life.  It is a great product because of so many reasons. I am not going to say too much about it because it works the same way as Jamaican black castor oil, which I already did a product review on. This product can be found at outerbeauty.com, amazon.com, Ohmybeauty.comThe average price for a 4 oz. bottle is $6.99. This is not a bad price considering how a lot of naturals are using castor oil these days. The only problem I would say that I have with this product is the smell. If you can bear the smell, then you won’t have any problem using it. You don’t have to use a lot to get great results. A little bit does go a long way.

Product Description:

Okay 100% Pure Black Haitian Castor Oil can be used to:
  • Stimulate hair growth
  • Thicken eyebrows
  •  Moisturize skin
  • Remove stretch marks
  • And it is an excellent hot oil treatment for hair.

DIRECTIONS:

1. To use as a HAIR GROWTH GREASE:
Apply the castor oil directly on to the hair from the tips of the hair to the roots. Leave castor oil on as a grease. Repeat weekly for the best results.
2. To use as a HOT OIL HAIR TREATMENT:
Warm up the castor oil in a small cup or bowl. Warm up a sufficient amount to cover the entire hair. After applying the oil, cover the hair with a cap and let sit for 30 minutes. Repeat weekly for best results.
3. To use as a EYEBROW/EYELASH GROWTH TREATMENT:
Apply the oil directly onto eyelashes and/or eyebrows. Be careful not to get oil in your eyes. Leave the oil on. Repeat this daily for the best results. Results should show up in about 1 month.
4. To use as a SKIN MOISTURIZER & ELIMINATE STRETCH MARKS:
Apply an ample amount of oil directly onto the desired skin area and massage in. Leave the oil on, do not rinse off. Can be repeated daily or as much as desired.

I Am Going Back To My First Love: Organic Root Stimulator Carrot Oil

If there is one thing that my hair does not like it is WATER. Put me in a pool with my Afro and watch me come out with my hair looking like a big cotton ball right away, and a brillo pad a few hours later. I got so lost in all the good homemade natural hair products that I have seen on youtube, I forgot how good this product was to me for the past 13 years. I stopped using it all together after I became natural.
I have decided to start using Organic Root Stimulator Carrot Oil again as part of my new regimen. I am going to plunge head first in that relationship, and not look back. This product provide the right moisturizer and sealer combination for those of us who are not sure about what amount to use when dealing with water based moisturizer. I personally tend to use too much Scurl “No Drip” Activator Moisturizer when I moisturize my hair, which leaves my hair very soft, but shrinks up my hair at the same time. Hopefully I won’t have to use it unless it is my wash day. The average price for the product is about $7.99, which is a little bit high, but it is worth the price.

Product Description

With more shine! Strengthens weak, damaged hair. Beta Carotene & Amino Acids help prevent shedding & breakage. Excellent for natural, relaxed, pressed, curls or color treated hair. For hair to achieve its maximum length, each hair fiber must be strengthened to resist the stress of daily styling, which can cause breakage. Organic Root Stimulator has blended the most strengthening agents found in nature and infused them into a vitamin-rich fortifying creme. Beta Carotene, Vitamin E, Horsetail and Amino Acids add inner strength to fragile damaged hair. When applied to dry and/or damaged hair, the herbal & protein blend fuses into the damaged sites to help mend and rebuild the hair shaft. With daily use, your hair will begin to show improved strength, elasticity and shine from root to end. No petroleum. No mineral oil.

2013 Hair Products Haul & How To Get Free Shipping On Amazon.Com

I ran out of a lot of products at the end of last year, but I still had my Shea butter mix. So I decided to do a little shopping. The only new product on the list is the Carrot Cream by Hollywood Beauty. I decided to by it because Organic Root Stimulator Carrot Oil was not on sale. I bought 3 bottles of Giovanni Direct Leave-In Conditioner because I LOVE that stuff; Plus the price was good considering some sellers sell one bottle for $9.42 with free shipping.  I spent $54.35 for the products below. The shipping was free, and I did not pay any taxes. The best way to get free shipping at amazon.com is to buy items that are eligible for free Super Saver Shipping only. They even include cheap products in the eligible items. Some of the products cost a little more, but when you look at the price that the sellers charge for shipping, it is worth it to go with the Super Saver Shipping items. I listed some of the items that I bought with the price next to them so you can compare the prices and make a decision for yourself. To tell you the truth, I love to get my products this way because number one,  you don’t have to burn gas, and number two, you don’t have to pay taxes, nor shipping cost.

           Happy Shopping Naturals!

Pros:
  • Good Price ( $9.95)
  • Natural ingredients
  • Very Thick
Cons:
  • The smell is very strong
  • It is too greasy

Bottom Line:
Just another conditioner, nothing impressive. It is more like a leave-in conditioner. I compare it to Giovanni Direct Leave-In conditioner minus the strong smell and all the oils. Like Giovanni, it is great for braid/twist outs. As a matter of fact, I used it two times as a leave-in conditioner. I used it once straight from the bottle. And the second time I mixed it with equal amount of water. So far I did not experience any breakage, and my braid out lasted a few days with no other products added.

    MY OPINION:
I bought this product after reading a lot of good reviews online (4.4 out of 5.0). It was on sale when I bought it, and I never bought a second bottle. It does everything it promises except for taming frizzies, and growing hair. STOP BREAKAGE would have been better words to use. When you see the word (GROWTH) on a bottle, the first thing that comes to mind is this product has the ability to make my hair grow. My opinion is to buy the top 3 ingredients on the bottle and make your own growth oil. That will save you money and you will avoid regular trips to the store.

CANTU Shea Butter Leave-In Conditioner REVIEW

I never knew how good this product was until I became natural. My hair was relaxed and damaged when I bought it for $8.00 at amazon.com. I used it on my hair a few times and to me it was not making a big difference. I have to admit that my hair was extremely damaged back then. My split ends did not stop, which is the main reason why I bought the product.
Now that I am natural, I see a big difference in the way it makes my hair look and feel. My hair feels and look very strong, and I get the best twist out when using this product. I compare it to Giovanni Direct Leave-in Conditioner.
